Not always. If you already know which treatment you would like and it is suitable for you, you can book directly. If you are unsure what your skin needs, have several concerns, or are considering an advanced treatment, I recommend starting with a consultation. This allows me to assess your skin, discuss your concerns and recommend the most appropriate treatment plan for you.

How do I know which treatment is right for my skin?

You don’t need to know before contacting me. Start with what is bothering you about your skin. I’ll consider your concerns, skin condition, history, current homecare and goals before recommending an appropriate treatment or plan. Sometimes the right starting point is professional treatment; sometimes it is improving your homecare or skin barrier first.

I’ll assess your skin and explain what I see before recommending suitable treatments and homecare. The aim is for you to understand why something is being recommended, rather than simply being given a list of treatments.

Yes. Please disclose any medications, supplements, medical conditions, allergies, pregnancy or breastfeeding, and recent procedures or medications that could affect your skin. No. You do not need a complicated routine or a cupboard full of products. I’ll work with what you are currently using and recommend changes only where I believe they are genuinely beneficial. A simple, consistent routine is often a better starting point than using too many products.

Yes. Professional homecare can be an important part of improving and maintaining skin health. If homecare is the most appropriate place to start, I’ll tell you that rather than recommending a treatment simply for the sake of doing one.
