HOW DOES IT WORK?
A sterile surgical blade is carefully passed over the skin at a controlled angle. This removes the outermost build-up of dead skin cells and fine vellus hair without damaging the healthy skin beneath.
Dermaplaning does not permanently remove facial hair and does not cause it to grow back thicker or darker.
BEFORE
Your skin will be examined to make sure dermaplaning is appropriate. The treatment area is then thoroughly cleansed and prepared.
DURING
You may feel a light scraping or brushing sensation. The treatment is generally comfortable and does not require anaesthetic.
AFTER
Your skin should immediately feel smoother and may appear brighter. Temporary redness, tightness or mild sensitivity can occur.

DERMAPLANING
Will my facial hair grow back thicker or darker?
No. Dermaplaning removes hair at the skin’s surface and does not alter the follicle. The hair grows back with its natural colour and texture.
Is dermaplaning painful?
It is usually comfortable. Most clients describe it as a gentle scraping or brushing sensation.
Is there downtime?
Downtime is minimal. Some clients experience temporary redness, tightness or sensitivity.
Can I have dermaplaning if I have acne?
Dermaplaning should not be performed over active, inflamed acne because the blade may irritate the area. It may be considered once the inflammation is controlled.
How often can I have the treatment?
Most clients can repeat it approximately every four to six weeks, depending on their skin and how well it has recovered.
Is it suitable during pregnancy?
Dermaplaning itself is a mechanical treatment, but suitability and any products included in the facial must still be assessed individually.
